"… the cost of not helping would be even greater."
Deborah and Rex Amini have generously offered a Challenge Grant to benefit SAMMinistries. They have pledged to match all donations received through September 30, 2010, up to a total of $250,000. This wonderful opportunity means your gift will help twice as much! Please donate today to help us meet the challenge.

A lot has changed in the last 27 years! We have gone from a part-time overnight men's shelter to a multi-facility, multi-program ministry; serving hundreds of men, women and children, each and every day. Just as we have changed with the times to meet the needs of the community, we thought this is the perfect time to reflect these changes within our branding.
We will be introducing it to all of San Antonio very soon, but we wanted our supporters and community members to see it first. We'd love to hear your response and comments!

Kids helping kids, Girls and Boy Scouts create beautiful spaces for kids and teens to relax, learn and play. That is what has been happening the past few months at our newest facilities. As we were preparing to move our guests and residents to the new campus, many things needed to happen! A lot of cleaning, decorating, and room preparation was necessary to turn drab rooms into kid-friendly spaces for our youngest residents.
Best of all, the rooms were created for them by their peers. Who better than a kid to know what kids like!

New Facilities on the Haven for Hope Campus
Monday, April 26, 2010, was moving day for 10 of the SAMM Shelter residents, as they change their address from 910 W. Commerce to 1 Haven for Hope Way. Still under the care of SAMMinistries, these men will be moving into our brand new facilities on the Haven for Hope Campus. The move will come as a welcomed change as these men move out of a building that is over 103 years old into a state-of-the-art facility.

I Like Change...Just Ask My Piggy Bank
Wrtten by: Matt CurtisI love the changing of the seasons. I enjoy the seasons for what they are, but the anticipation of what is to come is equally exciting. I once had a conversation with a man in a bank shortly after moving to San Antonio. He said, "South Texas has two seasons....summer and July n' August." I have found that to be oh so true. We have seasons but our fall is less colorful, our winter is less cold,…

sorry but I feel your story is very self-serving and kind of disgusting. Especially when you do that name dropping in the middle of it. Oh well, I guess you need to do it in order to justify yourself.
I don't expect to see this comment. If I do then maybe I am wrong about you....

I must admit I too am afraid God will ask me the same question. While it is difficult to overcome the injustice in this world, if we were all to do something about it...we could indeed make a difference. It is refreshing to see people like you wanting to do just that.

How right you are! The task of peddling becomes almost effortless when we leave the navigating to God. And the neat thing about being on the back seat is you can never get ahead of God and His plan for you.
