New Facilities on the Haven for Hope Campus
Monday, April 26, 2010, was moving day for 10 of the SAMM Shelter residents, as they change their address from 910 W. Commerce to 1 Haven for Hope Way. Still under the care of SAMMinistries, these men will be moving into our brand new facilities on the Haven for Hope Campus. The move will come as a welcomed change as these men move out of a building that is over 103 years old into a state-of-the-art facility. Each day, 10 more men will move from the existing SAMM Shelter on Commerce to the new SAMM Shelter on the campus.

Dennis is on a Mission for the Mission
After walking 47 miles from Bandera, Texas to downtown San Antonio, Dennis arrived at the SAMMinistries Emergency Shelter looking for more than a good night’s rest; he was looking for a new start.
For the previous seven years, he had worked on a race horse ranch. As a ranch hand, he was no stranger to hard work and difficult conditions. No matter what the weather, Dennis was out atop a quarter horse, working to keep the race horses safe and sound.

An Ounce of (Homeless) Prevention
Wrtten by: Terry KyleToday is a good day! I received a forwarded email from Elizabeth Cruz, our Manager for Homeless Prevention Services. The email was sent from one of our clients who had come to Liz’s department for assistance. The client addressed the work of one of our case managers and said in part, "Veronica could have given up on me when I was reluctant to her guidance and she didn't. I am so glad she did not…

I must admit I too am afraid God will ask me the same question. While it is difficult to overcome the injustice in this world, if we were all to do something about it...we could indeed make a difference. It is refreshing to see people like you wanting to do just that.

How right you are! The task of peddling becomes almost effortless when we leave the navigating to God. And the neat thing about being on the back seat is you can never get ahead of God and His plan for you.

Wow, this is pretty amazing. I guess I live in a bubble because I could never imagine anyone passing up someone dying in the street regardless of how they look.
