1) What is the first step to volunteering with SAMMinistries?

To become a volunteer, please complete the online application as this will allow for us to speed up the process for you to begin your rewarding volunteer experience.

2) What are the benefits of volunteering?

Our goal is to have you as a volunteer feel renewed and fulfilled as you share your time and talents with our guests. We offer a wide range of flexible volunteer opportunities.  It is extremely rewarding to know that through your outreach efforts you can make a difference as you touch the lives of those who are less fortunate.

3)  How much of my time is required to volunteer?

We understand that your time is valuable, so many of our opportunities are tailored to best match your schedule.  This allows you the freedom to assist as you are available.

4) What are the volunteer minimum age policies?

Part of SAMMinistries mission is to provide volunteer opportunities for those who are interested in “offering hope to the homeless.”  Although we would like to accommodate volunteers of all ages, given the diversity among those we serve, the minimum age of volunteers is 15 years old at our Transitional Living and Learning Center and 13 years old at the Emergency Shelter for those volunteering in special night service events. Minor volunteers not falling in any of the age requirements as identified above are eligible to volunteer with adult supervision in other special events appoved by Volunteer Services.

In the case any minors seeking volunteer opportunities, please contact our office and we are happy to share ideas of how you can become active in supporting our mission.
