Maliha K. Imami

Chief Development and External Relations Officer

Maliha K. Imami joined SAMMinistries in 2021 as the Chief Development and External Relations Officer. She brings with her almost 30 years of nonprofit experience ranging from work with refugee resettlement to workforce development, child abuse and neglect, education, and domestic violence.

At SAMMinistries, Maliha is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive plan to expand donor relations and deepen individual, foundation, corporate, governmental, and other constituent financial support. She also oversees the planning, developing, and implementation of stakeholder communications, public relations, and branding efforts. Maliha will build and grow relationships with strategic external allies.

Prior to joining SAMMinistries, Maliha served as the Chief Advancement Officer at ChildSafe where she played a pivotal role in the planning and strategic execution of a $35M capital campaign for the organization’s new campus on the Eastside of San Antonio. During her tenure as Director of Development and Communication with Project QUEST, Maliha’s leadership garnered over $10 million in operational funding to expand services including first of its kind partnership with USAA, Rackspace, and other tech companies that brought $6M in Department of Labor funds for IT skills training to San Antonio.

With a Master of Arts, Maliha is a trained sociologist with extensive experience leading cross-cultural teams to success through transparency, integrity, and honesty. She looks forward to creating a lasting impact by breaking the cycle of homelessness through early interventions and community relationships.
